Promises as open as wide blue sky

Dear Editor,

I see in your newspaper an advertisement from Bluesky, in which they remind people to pay their bills in a timely manner. “Failure to pay your account may affect your credit rating within the Cook Islands,” the ad reads.

Fair enough.

But what about when the boot’s on the other foot? It should go both ways.

I returned from New Zealand at the weekend and when I turned the TV back on, Cook Islands TV and Vaka TV were alright, but I had a bad signal for all my Moana TV channels.

I’ve been in twice to Bluesky head office, and each time they’re very polite. “Yes, we’ll get a serviceman there.” They promised to send someone round on Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. But nothing happened.

I’m used to Rarotonga time, but this is ridiculous. After all, I’m paying them $61.50 a month – we should be entitled to expect better.
