Store manager Daniel Ahau, who was present at the dinner awards in Sydney last month, was shocked when he heard the name of the shop in the Cook Islands called out.
“I didn’t realise we had made it to the top of nominations.”
Ahao is thrilled, “It is very rewarding, for our shop of this size just to be nominated and to win for the third time.”
“We offer quality Jay Cars products and we have applied ourselves in knowing what we sell, our dialogue with customers and our commitment to the brand.”
The retailer opened in 2012 and within year claimed their first award in 2013 and the second for 2015/16.
High ratings were noted for appearance – cleanliness and neatness, staff knowledge of the brand, presentation, increase in customers, its growth and consistent progress over the past year.
The brand is geared towards component merchandise such as TV aerials and plugs, resistors, wiring, cabling and more.
Other retailers vying for the prize were located in Samoa, Tonga, Rarotonga, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia.
