CI youth at Auckland conference

Young Cook Islanders are among 970 youths from The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints at a five-day conference in Auckland, New Zealand this week.


The conference, titled “For the Strength of Youth”, is being held at King's College. Its theme is, “If We Love Him”, referring to Jesus Christ.

The meeting aims to assist youth to strengthen their faith by providing inspiring learning opportunities and wholesome social experiences.

According to Scoop News, the young people, ages 14 to 17, are spending the week participating in a variety of devotions, workshops and other activities.

Among the guest presenters are the general manager of high performance at New Zealand Rugby Motu Tony, musical theatre star Graeme Purcell; and Survivor New Zealand alumnus Shayna Swain.

The conference has drawn young people from throughout the greater Auckland area and Northland; and some from Fiji, Niue, Perth and Melbourne.
