Celebrating the arrival of Christianity to the Cook Islands
Performers from Titikaveka put on a show of joy and happiness during their time in the spotlight at the Ngatangiia CICC Mission Ground yesterday. A large crowd of onlookers also braved inclement weather to mark the 197th year since Christianity arrived on Rarotonga. Six group performances – from Ngatangiia, Matavera, Avarua, Nikao, Arorangi and Titikaveka – thrilled the audience with their choice of action song, drum dance, chants, ute or imene tuki.
