The Bank of the Cook Islands (BCI) continued its monthly charity donation with another kind gesture last month.

The local bank made a financial contribution to the Women’s Counselling Centre Punanga Tauturu for the month of May.

In past months, BCI has donated funds to the Cook Islands Cancer Foundation, Cook Islands Red Cross in support of the Cyclone Gita, Mama Ake who lost her house to a fire, and Autism Cook Islands.

BCI marketing team leader Ina Davies said that at the beginning of the month they choose a cause to donate their mufti funds to.

“The staff get together every month and make whatever contribution they can and at the end of the month, we donate the contributions to the charity of our choice,” Davies said.

“The contributions vary every month depending on what the staff contribute.”

The generous initiative started off with BCI donating their first monthly proceeds to the Cook Islands Cancer Foundation in January.
