The sponsors of the 2018 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards have been commended by Tourism Industry Council president Sue Fletcher-Vea for making this year’s event an outstanding success.

Fletcher-Vea says Air New Zealand signed up once again as title sponsor in the Premium Gold category, enthusiastically reinforcing its long-standing commitment to Cook Islands tourism.

In the Gold sponsor category, strong support was given from “the big end of town” – including BCI, Bluesky, BSP, CITC, and the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation.

Silver sponsors included amongst their ranks Cook Islands News, the Cook Islands Sun, the Pitt Media Group, and the Ministry of Cultural Development. During the initial sponsor’s announcement back in October 2017, Fletcher-Vea emphasised that the 2018 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards was the tourism industry’s most anticipated and important event.

“The process of selecting and presenting these hard earned industry awards would simply not have been possible without the substantial and committed support from all sponsors.

“When our sponsors signed up they did so also understanding the two main objectives of the

2018 Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards – that is to inspire ongoing business

improvement and to acknowledge excellence within the tourism industry.

“On Friday April 20, the National Auditorium once again proved to be a magnificent setting for the Tourism Awards gala event, where more than 350 tourism industry professionals, together with the Award sponsors, celebrated this important industry occasion,” said Fletcher-Vea.

“On behalf of the entire Cook Islands tourism industry, I extend a sincere thank you to all our wonderful sponsors. We really couldn’t have done it without you.”
