Online fundraiser gives plenty of chances to win

Apii Te Uki Ou’s popular school fundraiser has returned for its fourth year – and again, tourists, families and friends living abroad can contribute.

The annual online fundraiser was launched in July this year and is designed through “Givealittle” website to raise money through donations.

More than 20 local businesses have donated flights, luxury accommodation, transport, meals and awesome island activities to make this project one of the school’s biggest fundraising events of the year. And what makes it really different is that people from all over the world can be involved.

Donations to the primary school can be as little as $10, and donors will go into the draw to win a seven night holiday for two to Rarotonga and Aitutaki, as well as great prizes including accommodation at Sea Change Villas, an island night at Te Vara Nui, cruises courtesy of Koka Lagoon Cruizes, fishing charters, “pamper” sessions and more.

Last year’s fundraiser made $15,000, which helped to fund learning support and culture teachers for the school.

This year, the school hopes to top previous years’ efforts through the online fundraising platform.

Each $10 donation counts as one entry, so the more that is donated, the better your chances of winning the trip.

The “win a trip to Raro” prize is worth more than $12,000 and all the extra prizes have been donated.

The 2017 fundraiser will go towards  school projects such as school camps, and all money raised goes directly to the school.

The fundraiser would not be possible without the support of sponsors including Air New Zealand, Sea Change Villas, Island Car & Bike Hire, Akura Fishing Charter, Koka Lagoon Cruise, Storytellers Eco Cycle Tours, LBV, Te Vara Nui Village, Raro Reef Sub, Sails, Coco Putt, Matutu, Rito Cook Islands, Tabatha Forbes, Nautilus Resort, Air Rarotonga and Pacific Resort Aitutaki.

The campaign ends on December 16.

To enter in to win a free trip, make your donation online through www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/2016apiiteukiou or contact +682 23509.
