The country’s swimming sensation Wesley Roberts left Atiu yesterday, after a hero’s welcome on his home island.
Those who are keen to have a go at sailing regardless of lack of experience, are welcome to the Rarotonga Sailing Club (RSC) Open Day from 9am this morning.
Students started back at school on Tuesday.
For Apii Avarua the kids are not only excited to be back in the classrooms, they are in full swing with rehearsals for the opening of their dome on August 23.
Year 8 pupil Ephraim Simpson is happy to be back. “I’ve had enough of the holidays, I missed being at school with my friends.”
A keen dancer, he says, being in the team helps keep him fit.
Tione Nand couldn’t wait for school to start again and loves his culture. “It’s a lot of fun and when I’m dancing it puts a smile on my face; I miss learning and I’m so happy to be back.”
