The cultural experience activities include Ei making lessons, restoration - planting seedlings, traditional games such as teka (sticks), rore (stilts), patutu poti (can line up), singing imene tuki (hymns) and story-telling.
Today the kids will head to Takuvaine valley to plant taro, pick rukau and plant utu seedlings, they will then make preparations for the umu, plait kikau bowls and prepare coconut cream.
At 6.30pm tonight talks are scheduled on the wind and tides, with a trip to reef and to collect ko’iti (crabs).
Tomorrow the last day of the cultural programme, the umu will be lit at 6.30am in the morning, ready to be opened at 1.30pm.
