Maara Teariki received the St Joseph’s Academic student of 2018 school dux award at the school’s prizegiving on Wednesday.

Teariki also received the Quincy Tuiravakai memorial trophy sponsored by William and Selina Tuiravakai and family.

Shelley Berry was also confirmed as the school’s new principal. She will take up her duties next year. 

Senior awards: Most Improved Grade 6 Students - Emma Papalii and Maevarangi Kirikava, Best Attendance - Emii Akava, Most Diligent Student - Paula Manlangit, Well mannered Year 6 Student - Teuraarii Macquaire.

Certificates of Distinction: Outstanding Student in Religion - Tuaanaore Mitchell, Outstanding Students in Numeracy - Maara Teariki and Charlie Ngatoko, Outstanding Student in Literacy - Maara Teariki, Outstanding Student in Maori - Charlie Ngatoko, Outstanding Student in Information Communication Technology - Tuaanaore Mitchell, Outstanding Sportsman champion - Zarrian Heather-Rau, Outstanding Sports Girl Champion - Teura Wichman, Academic Student of 2018 school dux - Maara Teariki.
