Last Friday, the local community headed to the St Joseph’s School gala day, to help the school’s fundraising efforts.

A variety of food stalls including a fabulous array of desserts and sweets, a disco room, a movie room, a raffle and a face-painting stall were all on hand to keep both kids and adults alike entertained.

Principal Shelley Berry said she was overwhelmed by the support the school received.

“It has been a blessing to have not just our St Joseph’s community come and support us but also the wider community throughout the island.

“I personally feel very blessed to be a part of our school which has such a special character.

“I couldn’t believe how well the day went, we sold out of a number of our food stalls so that was definitely unexpected.”

Berry said the funds raised from Friday’s gala will go towards the overall maintenance of the school as well as working towards improving the school’s technology capabilities
