As Rarotonga prepares to begin its Te Maeva Nui celebrations for 2018, Nukutere College were starting early, with their house cultural competition.

The event, titled ‘Nukutere Maeva Nui’, was held on Tuesday night at the Punanga Nui market and involved a number of well-choreographed performances full of bright costumes.

Students from each of the four houses – John Rodgers, Edmund Rice, Bernadine Castine and Peter Chanel – all took to the stage in front of a large crowd of friends and family.

Taking out top spot was John Rodgers, who took the title from Peter Chanel house, who had previously won the first two years of the competition.
