The Bank of the South Pacific is celebrating its fifth birthday in Cook Islands.

Country manager David Street said it has been a very rewarding five years with a key focus on community engagement, product development and continual improvement in services.

“We now have 10 agencies, five of those throughout the Pa Enua, 13 automatic teller machines, one of which is the first mobile machine in the Pacific.”

Street added that in celebration of the anniversary, the bank had organised several activities  starting with a church service.

On Monday the staff participated in a Go Green clean up at the social centre and the town area.  Yesterday was the bank’s popular “in your customer’s shoes” day where employees work in customers’ businesses.

Today a sausage sizzle will be held at the bank to raise funds for a retirement village.

New pareu uniforms will be unveiled on Friday and blessed by Pastor Paul Kauri at a morning service.
