The airline’s country manager Marisa Newman said they were awaiting a Ministry of Health directive on preventative measures, but operating as normal.
Their normal procedure was to advise the Ministry of Health if any passengers traveling onboard an Air New Zealand flight to Rarotonga was looking unwell.
Satellite contact would be made prior to landing, to get the medical team on standby if necessary.
All staff members were practising good hygiene, and they had conducted health awareness sessions with air and ground crew.
