Waterfall fee takes its toll on visitors

Wigmore’s waterfall has attracted another letter from disappointed tourists. 18042220 Wigmore’s waterfall has attracted another letter from disappointed tourists. 18042220

I read the letter regarding the road toll at the falls.

This is one of the reasons we are not returning this year. This is an unfriendly and uncomfortable road closure that is unnecessary.

First couple of years we came we visited the falls and loved it. Last year the road block was in place, the man on the “gate” was rude and abusive, we did not pay or see the falls, our day was ruined.  It was the only bad part of our visit but it was the part we told everyone at home about.

A shame this has been allowed. This, coupled with the number of cars on the road now due to the motorcycle licence changes, was the reason we did not return for our family holiday this year.

Road tolls? Busy roads? Beautiful beaches? This year we are going to Sydney to get all we can in Rarotonga without the wandering dogs.
