The junior and intermediate Dancer of the Year contest was held at the National Auditorium last Thursday night.

Once again, young dancers from Rarotonga and the outer islands showed their outstanding skills in fast beat and slow beat dances, wowing the audience with their performances.

A panel of judges had the unenviable task of selecting the prize winners, with the results only becoming available from the Ministry of Cultural Development yesterday.

Photos were also made available for the first time yesterday, supplied courtesy of a ministry photographer.

And the dancing action hasn’t ended yet. The Masters and Expats Dancer of the Year contest will be held at The Islander Hotel tomorrow, and is guaranteed good entertainment.

The Senior Dancer of the Year will be held at the same location next Thursday, May 10.
