The exhibition is called “Cook Islands – Paradies in der Südsee” (Cook Islands – paradise in the South Pacific). Dr Wolfgang Losacker is presenting his pictures of Cook Island people and landscape he has taken in his more than 33 years living on Rarotonga
Gallery owner Max Greiner says “I´m sure you know will know Wolfgang Losacker from his medical work at the hospital in Rarotonga and also on all outer islands training nurses and doctors and establishing medical standards on the Cooks as well as from his work as honorary consul of Germany for the Cook Islands.”
The exhibition started three weeks ago and will last until July 27.
Wolfgang (he is in Germany at the moment) has held a first reading about his experiences living and working on the Cooks at the end of May and a second reading will follow on Saturday.
“We, Max and my wife Alexandra together with our twin boys Max and Moritz (almost six years now), are from Germany and have travelled the South Pacific many times and especially the Cooks, which we fell in love with from the first time.
“We have been on your beautiful islands seven times, most lately in November and December 2013. During that stay I met Wolfgang and his wife at Banana Court and, after an invitation to his home in Arorangi, the idea rose to show a selection of his fantastic photos, which he took over more than 30 years from all the beautiful islands, in our art gallery in south of Germany.
