Turuaki Manuela is charged with common assault, two counts of assault on a female, burglary and aggravated burglary.
The alleged attack made the headlines after an Australian couple spoke to Cook Islands News about their experience; they alleged Club Raro’s security was inadequate.
The couple said they had been left “traumatised” after the April 7 incident; the man had not been able to work again and had lost his job.
Defence lawyer Mark Short was yesterday granted time by the High Court to look through different complaints
He said he had to look through complaints from two or three different people, disclosed by police.
Manuela appeared before Justice of the Peace Georgina Williams, who granted an adjournment.
The couple from Australia, who were in Rarotonga for a holiday, were alleged victims of Manuela’s offending.
The couple said they had been traumatised and were getting psychological counselling.
The matter has been adjourned to July 25.
