The attack took place by the Rehab nightclub shortly after midnight on Friday.
Police in a statement on Saturday said they were tracking and investigating offenders and possible witnesses to the attack.
“Police were alerted shortly after midnight to the incident, which involved an alleged broken bottle stabbing,” it said in the statement.
“At least two victims were located and taken to hospital. One person was placed in police lock-up on Saturday while a CIB team conducted investigations into the whereabouts of another offender.
“Police now want to hear from any witnesses to this serious incident and would like people to come forward with information.”
A witness to the fight told CINews that it began outside the nightclub, before spilling into the entrance area.
“We were outside the nightclub when I saw two guys take off their shirts and start punching each other, so I pushed my girlfriend inside to get out of the way,” the witness said.
However, the fighters came into the entrance area and the couple realised that they needed to get into the actual club itself. During the fracas, the witness said that blood from the fight spilled on his face and his clothing.
This latest attack follows a similar stabbing incident outside the same nightclub about a week ago.
Three people were taken to hospital, one in critical condition, now stabilised, with multiple stab wounds.
Three arrests were initially made in relation to the incident, which police said started inside a town nightclub and was continued outside by the bus stop in Taputapuatea.
A male aged between 18 and 25 appeared in court on Saturday, February 10, on a charge of wounding with intent. He will reappear in court on March 1.
