The 42nd Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Annual Conference wraps up today after a day-long retreat in Aitutaki.

This week saw commissioners from across the Pacific region meet at Edgewater Resort and Spa over four-days to discuss crime prevention.

This year’s theme is ‘preventing crime through information management’, and has been the focus of a number of conference workshops.

Today, officials will be flying to Aitutaki to attend various workshops on various policing topics.

The conference has seen commissioners discuss cyber safety, forensics, preventing domestic violence, and information management.

Cook Islands police commissioner Maara Tetava has assumed the chairmanship of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Secretariat from the Solomon Islands.
