Safari Tents are the New Zealand and Pacific islands distributors for Dutch company Luxetenten, who are one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of high quality safari/glamping tents.
Safari Tents’ James Lamb said Luxetenten have been at the forefront of the development of safari tents since 2009 and have become a highly respected leading manufacturer and supplier to the glamping world.
“We have been selling their tents in NZ since 2015 where we are now very established and have now started to promote the tents in to the Pacific islands,” Lamb said.
“We feel that they offer a unique opportunity for Cook Islanders to develop family landholdings for tourism extremely cost effectively with an exceptional return on investment.
“There is currently only one glamping business in the Cook Islands and the established nightly rate of $388 for a double bedroom is almost double that of a recently built modern studio with all the mod cons.”
Lamb said there was no question that guests were willing to pay a premium for a unique experience and the cost of the build for one of these glamping tents is significantly less than a traditional build.
“The tents are extremely robust and are made with best quality European materials. UV resistant PVC roofs made in Germany and highest grade camping tent canvas made in Holland.
“In the event of a catastrophic weather forecast they can be dismantled in a day, stored in a container and reassembled when the storm has passed.”
